"The 5.18 p.m. train from Brighton (7.5 p.m. from East Grinstead) to Victoria was travelling at high speed on the up main line, when the coupled wheels of the engine became derailed. Fortunately no further derailment ensued, and there were no complaints of injury or shock from passengers or staff."
