"This guide provides information about the Level Crossings Regulations 1997 which came into force on 1 April 1997. In brief, the Regulations:
(a) make certain amendments to the Level Crossings Act 1983 (LCA);
(b) make it an offence for a level crossing operator to fail to comply with an order under the LCA;
(c) repeal some older provisions which are no longer needed."
