"At approximately 18.50hrs on Friday 18 June 1999, the 17.52hrs London Paddington to Bourne End passenger train service (train reporting number 2B44), consisting of a Class 165/1 "Thames Turbo" Diesel Multiple Unit totalling three coaches and operated by Thames Trains, departed from Cookham station in a northerly direction and narrowly missed a Rover 820 road vehicle on the level crossing. The train was being operated under driver-only operation conditions for passenger trains."
