Terms and Conditions horizontal rule  
In these Terms and Conditions the following words shall have the following meanings:

"RA" means the The Railways Archive;
"the Site" means the The Railways Archive web site having address of www.railwaysarchive.co.uk;
"User" or "Users" means that or those persons or organizations that either view or access site.

1. These terms and conditions regulate the basis upon which Users are permitted to view or have access to the site.

2. The contents of any item published in the site are for general information and discussion purposes only. The RA does not warrant or guarantee the accuracy or completeness of any item and it is the responsibility of Users to judge for themselves the accuracy or completeness of the contents before relying upon them in any way. The use of or reliance upon the contents of any item by any User is at that User's sole risk. The RA exclude all liability of any kind in respect of any information provided by any User which is published in the site.

3. The Site (including the software composing the Site) contains material including text, photographs and other images, which is protected by copyright and/or other intellectual property rights. All copyright and other intellectual property rights in this material (other than items submitted by third parties for publication in the DCS) are either owned by the RA or have been licensed to it by the owner(s) of those rights so that it can use this material as part of this web site. Users may access any part of the Site and print off one copy of any or all of the pages for their own personal reference. Users may not copy, distribute, broadcast, alter or tamper with in any way or otherwise use any material contained in the Site except as stated above. These restrictions apply in relation to all or part of the material on the Site. Users may not remove any copyright, trademark or other intellectual property notices contained in the original material from any material copied or printed off from the Site.

4. In submitting any item to the RA for inclusion in the site Users are deemed to accept that such items will or maybe made available in the public domain and waive any rights of confidentiality in relation to the same.

5. Each User warrants in relation to any items submitted by that User for publication in the site, that such item is not defamatory of any third party, nor that it infringes any third parties' intellectual property rights or rights of confidentiality. Each User, in respect of any items submitted by that User for publication in the site, agrees to indemnify and keep the RA indemnified against any costs, claims and demands in the event of the infringement of such warranty.

6. These terms and conditions are governed by and will be interpreted in accordance with English Law. All disputes relating to these terms and conditions will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of English Courts.

7. All Users wishing to recieve communications from the RA will be required to register with the RA. This will involve providing the RA with certain information which is or may be personal to that User. Information so obtained will be held and used by the RA in accordance with the RA's Privacy Policy.

9. The RA hereby reserve the right to vary these terms and conditions at any time at its sole discretion.
